The tulip was imported to the Netherlands during the Ottoman Empire and was considered a true luxury. Today, these flowers are an indispensable part of the Dutch landscape. Due to the tulip’s subtle fragrance, exotic flowers that were imported for the European elite in the 17th century have been added.
