About the Women's Haori
Woman's Haori with White and Red Cranes is a Japanese kimono on display at the Rijksmuseum. It is a haori (kimono) for a woman with a full face decoration of white and red cranes in flight, the full face is lined with white origami cranes. Pink silk with damask woven decoration of cranes, exterior and lining with painted yuzen decoration and gold leaf. Single-family crest (mon) of a stylised floral pattern (hanabishi). The artist who created the painting is unknown, it dates from 1920-1940.
