Enjoy our Rijksmuseum Berkemeier glass, a tribute to 17th-century Dutch craftsmanship.

Berkemeier
A Berkemeier is a drinking glass with a wide, flared bowl. Its distinctive green colour is caused by iron impurities in the sand used for glass production. People used to eat mostly with their hands, the hollow stem covered with pruns providing grip for greasy hands. This type of glass was commonly depicted on still-life table settings by the Dutch Masters in the 17th century.
