The Rijksmuseum x POLSPOTTEN collection blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. This edition takes the form of a candelabrum, inspired by the silver wall lamps in Petronella Oortman’s remarkably lifelike Dollhouse, on display at the Rijksmuseum. Pascal Smelik’s creation strikes a balance between elegance and distortion, as if molten metal has been frozen in time, playing with the melting candle it surrounds. Made from silver-plated cast aluminium.
