Rijksmuseum shop is the official (online) museum shop of the Rijksmuseum. We offer gifts, home decor, books, toys, and more, inspired by the art collection of the Rijksmuseum. Whether you're looking for something beautiful for your home or a gift for an art lover, the Rijksmuseum shop offers a surprising collection of artistic products for young and old. A large part of the assortment is exclusively available in the Rijksmuseum shop. The products are shipped worldwide, and your purchase supports the Rijksmuseum.

About the Rijksmuseum

The Rijksmuseum is the museum of the Netherlands. It tells the story of Dutch art and history, from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. The Rijksmuseum opened its doors on May 31, 1800. Not in Amsterdam, but in Huis Ten Bosch in The Hague, under the name Nationale Kunstgalerij (National Art Gallery). In the following years, the museum moved from The Hague to the Royal Palace on Dam Square in Amsterdam and then to the Kloveniersburgwal, finally settling in the museum building designed by Pierre Cuypers on the Museumplein in 1885. Between 2003 and 2013, the museum underwent a complete renovation and restoration.

Part of the Rijksmuseum is the Rijksmuseum shop: the official museum store of the Rijksmuseum. You will find a large shop inside the Rijksmuseum itself and a smaller store in the Teekenschool next to the museum. The Rijksmuseum shop, like the Rijksmuseum, is meant for everyone. The collection includes Delft blue accessories, art posters, IXXI wall decorations, Rituals products, books, toys, gifts, prints, and much more, all inspired by the art collection of the Rijksmuseum. Prefer to shop from home? A large portion of the products is also available at Rijksmuseumshop.nl. We ship worldwide, so that everyone can experience the art collection of the Rijksmuseum.

Rijksmuseum shop and sustainability

We develop nearly all products at the Rijksmuseum shop ourselves, in a socially responsible and as sustainable as possible manner. We produce the products as locally as possible and also collaborate with B Corp companies and organizations that help people with disabilities in finding employment, such as Siza and BORO x Atelier. You will truly purchase an authentic Dutch product from Rijksmuseum. We are working towards making the entire supply chain transparent, to encourage our suppliers to produce responsibly and sustainably. All the paper used in our museum shop is FSC-certified, but we are also experimenting with elephant grass as a replacement for standard paper.
